Bolivia

May 2025

Maize (main) and Sorghum (minor) are in harvest stage. Maize (minor), sorghum (main) and wheat are in the sowing stage. By the end of April, large areas across the country continued to be flooded including in Santa Cruz, the main grain-producing department. By the end of May, the government informed that

970,00 households have been affected by the floods. Rainfall in the last month has been normal to above normal across the country. However, there are areas of cropland showing poor vegetation activity, mainly in Santa Cruz. This could be explained by the disruption of cultivation operations brought by the floods and by the reduction of cultivated areas. Normal precipitation is forecast until end of August by the Copernicus C3S Multimodel in most of the country except in the southwestern part.
